The existing interior of an un-manned reception point, a small meeting room, a short corridor and an occasionally used front office did not reflect the Ellisons brand favourably to visitors, therefore a new practical approach needed to be undertaken in the layout and finishes of the entire area.
A re-branding exercise concluded that the interior should take on a ‘White World’ theme and be in tune with the corporate branding colours used within other areas of the business. Fahrenheit worked closely with the lead branding designer to ensure that all the elements of the design, finishes and implementation of the project met with their criteria and the expectations of the client.
Following the initial rip-out, work quickly began on building the interior with a new electrical supply, stud- partitions and ceilings being installed. The project brief required 2 meeting offices which could double as hot desk spaces; with one being accessible from the reception area and the other only available internally from the staff workplace. A corridor created by the glass offices simply link two parts of the building and maintains security throughout.
A blast of bright pink taken from the re-branding is integrated into the new scheme through the fabric material in the office and reception chairs, the large feature lampshade suspended above the reception / telephone point and the company signage. The two-tone grey floor reflects the bulkhead ceiling detail and acts as a path towards the glass lobby doorway controlled by an electronic switch.
A sense of being visual throughout the interior was paramount in the client brief and is broken up only with sharp pink and the DDA required decals applied to the glass
partitions. The head office reception area is the first completed design project direct for Ellisons and represents the direction of the interior design in a view towards a full re-location project in the future.
Over a number of years Fahrenheit has built a long standing relationship with Ellisons to provide design, space-planning and project co-ordination services to their customers in hairdressing and beauty interior design
